Vintage Tea-Dyed Pearl Beaded Coffee Filter Rose

Hello Everyone!

I have been playing in my craft room and I wanted to share what I made out of a few simple supplies you may already have in your craft space.

Coffee Filter (Mine is Tea-Dyed)
Lace
Stamens
Embellished Fabric
Glue of your choice

I really had fun making this rose and would encourage you to get out your fabric scraps, bits and pearls and create your one-of-kind hand made rose. I used a beautifully embellished swatch from a vintage wedding dress from the 1930's that I found at my local Salvation Army. The dress had gorgeous details of Venice lace floral appliques, pearls and silver metallic bugle beads intricately placed all over the dress on a net material.

Here is my Tea-Dyed Coffee Filter

Folded into a cone shape and twisted the bottom to create the rose

Vintage Shabby Chic Stamens

1930's Wedding Gown Swatch

I added a spot of Fabri-Tac to the end to hold it in place. Then I took some vintage stamens and wrapped a piece of crochet lace around the stamens and placed those inside of the middle of the rose and added some more Fabri-Tac, then I turned down the sides of the coffee filter to give it some dimension and interest and added small pieces pieces of the embellished wedding gown swatch to the edges and inside the layers of the rose.

Most of my inspiration to create comes from embellished clothing. If it says romance then I have to have it.

Come back to see me again, I will have another embellished rose to share with you that is PINK!!!!!

Have a fabulous day lovelies and thanks for coming by to see my latest creation.

I know it's been along time lovelies here is a project that I made for my friend Boni.

I love creating altered items. It is my passion to make something out of recycled materials. I found a plain kraft box at my local Goodwill, added crumpled paper and painted it gold. It was so much fun to make this for my friend Boni, she gifted me some beautiful crochets doilies, so I just had to make something for her. I will post a video in case you would like to see it. I promise I will post some more projects soon and it won't be 3 months later.

Here is the video for you to see up close.

I hope everyone is having a Awesome Day!

Shabby Chic Dress Form for All Holidays

I wanted to design this wooden Dress Form that I got from Michael's so that I can update her wardrobe for all of the Holidays. Do you remember as a little girl playing with paper dolls and changing the outfits? I do too, it was so fun changing my paper dolls clothes every day. I had this idea to create a Paper Doll Dress Form Kit just like the paper dolls I used to play with.

I traced the Wood Dress Form using light weight chipboard and created my first outfit using sequins, fabric, lace and my favorite papers by DCWV", The Lace and Linen Stack.

My first outfit that I created is a glamourous Shabby Chic Style. I am currently working on the next outfit which will be in the Shabby Chic blues, whites and silvers. I attached my paper doll dress using the skinny round sticky dots but I am changing that out for velcro so that I can change the outfit on the Wood Dress Form.

In this kit I have added all of the glamour embellishments that I used on my dress form so that you can create one for yourself.

MPTS First Blog Hop "Picking Flowers"

Hi Everyone welcome to "MPTS" First Blog Hop!

I found this adorable vintage print of a little girl.  The picture came in a pink frame from my local thrift store. I removed the picture from the frame and made it into a collage to hang on the wall. The back of the cardboard frame has a hanger attached.

One of my favorite things to make is collage art using several items that can be found in most homes. Various pieces of papers, stamps of your choice, lace, vintage jewelry and of course the most important thing is Anna's gorgeous flowers.

This was a very simple project and perfect for the neopolitan flower collection.

Shabby Chic Dress Form Hanger

I had so much fun creating this Shabby Chic Dress Form Hanger, the possibilities are endless with a wire hanger.

I placed a crochet trim around the hanger first as my base and then added a honecomb style lace as the collar, to top that off a beautiful sequin and pearl applique that was hand tea-dyed from my wedding dress collections, I added some ruffle trim from a vintage nightgown, Tim Hotz Dress Form die cut with a thread spool and lace as the base for the center dress form.  The dress form could also stand up on its own for a creative display.

WOC Flowers, hand-made flowers and OLLVT  flowers.  The top of the hanger I added a vintage thread spool with lucsious shabby chic fibers wrapped around the thread spool, paris eiffel tower charm and fleur-de-lis charm.

Shabby Chic Journal

I love Shabby Chic and the designs that are at Michael's Arts and Crafts in the $1 and $2 Spot, they have been so pretty lately. I found a Shabby Chic Spiral Journal and Altered it a little bit. I love adding my Vintage Rhinestone Pieces to my Designs and making Flowers out of Laces and Trims. The fluffy trim is fibers wrapped around two fingers and then glued in the middle of the lace flower. I used my favorite glue to adhere it. Fabric Tac is great in so many projects and you don't burn your fingers hehe. I hope you have a fabulous Day!

Graphic 45 Altered Dominos

I wanted to make a miniature piece of collage art using products that are sold
on http://www.artfire.com/users/oohlalavintagetreasures

Wood Dominos
Vintage Hand Tea-Dyed Lace
Vintage Wedding Applique
Miniature Rose Bouquet Burgundy
Graphic 45 "Curtain Call Collection" Eiffel Tower Image
Graphic 45 "Le' Romantique" Collection Bride Image

I wrapped the lace around and secured the dominos as a book layered the front cover with Indian Trim and Wedding Dress Applique and a small rose complete the front. Inside I edged them in Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Tim Holtz, wrinkled up the images and added Glossy Accents to give them a real vintage look. This is a great little display.
